In addition to the classes and cars described on our homepage, here’s some more information about how we work, and we urge you to read this page before booking.
Our cars
We have cars for everyone! We have two categories of cars:
- Budget cars: We have a few older SUV’s with more space, more comfort and a lot more safety, for a really low price: starting at ANG 65.40 (~34 EUR) per day for short-term rental including taxes and all risk insurance.
- New cars: We also have brand new 2024 cars for the people that want a bit more luxury, starting at ANG 98.10 (~50 EUR) per day for short term rental including all-risk insurance and taxes
If you rent for 30 days or more, you get a 30% discount!
Below is a bit more general information about our cars and our policies.
Our philosophy
Our philosophy is to offer comfortable, safe and reliable cars for a low price. That’s why we offer only a bit larger cars with an automatic transmission, a bit of ground clearance, and a lot of space. A lot of rental companies offer small Kia Picantos or Hyundai i10s for example, but for us, driving out with ‘tiny tins’ like that on Curaçao is irresponsible, and we won’t have any of it.
The budget line consists of cars that are a bit older, but give you a lot of comfort and space for a low price. We have no age limit on those cars. All cars are maintained well, all cars have an automatic transmission, and have perfectly working air conditioning. But since they’re a bit older, they have occasional dents and scratches, and other normal wear and tear.
We also have brand new 2024 cars, if you want the luxury and comfort of a new car. All cars are well maintained, but with a brand new car you’re almost guaranteed it won’t let you down, and you get new features like parkings sensors, backup cameras, isofix mounts, etc. Because of insurance reasons, for the new cars, we have an minimum age limit of 23 years with 2 years of driving experience (for all drivers of course).
All extra drivers besides the primary driver are free of charge, but we do need to register them. Email us a copy of the driver’s license, and you’re good!
Getting to Emmastad
We are located in Emmastad, centrally on the island. You will pass by Emmastad if you go to the east side of the island. The only option when booking through the website is pickup and return at Emmastad. However, we usually also have a car at a location at Mambo, Zeelandia, or other places, so contact us to see if we can accommodate you, and I can change your reservation afterwards!
Generally speaking, we do not do airport pick-up and drop-off, nor car delivery, since it’s not cost efficient. Taking a taxi to us will cost around $25-30. But contact us with your exact schedule and where you’re staying, because depending on the circumstances, we might still be able to organise an airport pick-up for your specific date, or even do delivery.
Options
At other companies these subject are paid options. With us, it’s either included or not. To summarize:
- Mileage: unlimited. No questions asked.
- Insurance: all risk.
- Fuel policy: full out, full in.
- Additional drivers: free.
- Children seats: we don’t have these, but the Speelotheek Curacao rents out everything you will need, from car seats in different sizes to beds, etc.
Long term
As stated above, you get a 30% discount on long-term rentals (28 days or longer). That means the rate for the budget SUV/sedan goes down to ANG 45.78 per day. We have a lot of long-term renters, so join the club and rent your car with us. You’ll be guaranteed to have a working, maintenance free car, without any worries.
Payment
After you make your reservation, you will get a confirmation of your reservation by email. A few weeks before you arrive we’ll make up the invoice and send it to you, and you can pay that online.
If you are based in Europe we’ll include an online payment link through Mollie (iDeal, creditcard, etc.), or a ‘Tikkie’ is the amount is low. If you’re based in the US, we’ll send you a payment link through Stripe. We don’t accept cash for security reasons. Contact us if you want to pay using Bitcoin.
